Parenting Classes
Our parenting classes are available while you are pregnant and after you become a parent. The pregnancy counseling goals can be worked through in this service. The topics range from “How to be a Parent” to “How to Plan a budget to meet your family’s needs”. Our parenting classes are currently held via telephone or Zoom. Each session will earn 10 baby dollars. Pick-ups will be arranged according to your schedule. For the time being – all parenting classes will be conducted individually. If you are interesting in learning more about how to become Independent, please sign up for our zoom Independence Services which will cover the topics of resume writing, budget making, credit analysis, and/or posting for jobs online.
Prenatal classes
This service is intended to give basic information about fetal development, nutrition, and provides professional information regarding the pregnancy by a registered nurse. Our parenting classes are currently held via telephone or Zoom. Each session will earn 10 baby dollars. Pick-ups will be arranged according to your schedule. To register for a class at one of our centers, just message the center that is closest to you.
Natural Family Planning classes
Married couples who are seeking this service should consult with their priest or pastor. Here are some of the requirements for taking these classes.
1) Couples cannot go on NFP before their first child.
2) The reasons should be greater than a light reason, but does not have to be grave (life or death).
3) I usually advise couples that if another child would hamper the upbringing of the children then it is okay to go on NFP for a time. In other words the pro-creation causes serious difficulties in the home so that the children will not have a good home life. Some examples:
3a) the mother has a weak constitution and will honestly have a breakdown with another child, or has a chronic illness that already taxes her.
3b) A child is a special needs child and the family is already taxed by the emotional and financial care. This is especially so if the child has an inherited genetic condition in which there is a good chance another child will inherit the same condition.
3c) True financial difficulties. The father cannot work due to a chronic illness and the family can barely care for the children they already have.
Our NFP classes teach the basic method of Sympto-thermal NFP. Class instructions take 2 weeks. First one is to teach the method, 2nd is for follow-up on the basic concepts. Six months of additional support until the couple is comfortable with the technique.
