About the Author

Karen Patota is the founder of the social service organization A Baby’s Breath. It first opened in 2000, and Patota has now expanded to five centers in the Greater Philadelphia area and a home for homeless pregnant women. A Baby’s Breath offers free ultrasounds, housing, natural family planning classes, and support for both singles living a Christian lifestyle and prospective adoptive parents. Patota is currently working on a new program to train clients for employment.

Patota received her bachelor’s degree in applied math from California State University and her master’s degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University. She has been married to her husband, John, for twenty-five years. They have four children: Joshua, Jared, Thomas, and Victoria.
